D. Woods has arrived! On set of her video, "Legalize Me"

Many of you know D. Woods as one of the 5 members of the super female pop group, Danity Kane. D. Woods left the group after much success and multi-platinum fame to pursue her solo career. I recently met D. Woods on the set of her upcoming video, "Legalize Me" which is definitely going to be a smash hit!
Her girl Quinn hit me up and asked me if I wanted to roll with her to the set of the video and at first I didn't know what to expect. You know, most females who are hot in

What struck me immediately was how extremely humble D. Woods was to EVERYONE on the set. She walked through and was clearly having as much fun shooting the video as all the other participants. The only other noticable part of her video cast was Ray Cunningham from BET College Hill, and Tech from MTV's Real World who was apparently a part of the production crew.
D. Woods and I chatted briefly, and thanks to our mutual friend Coko Clemons from the female power group SWV, we broke the ice immediately. Noticeably, D. Woods had major swag zipping through the crowd speaking to everyone from extras to hair and makeup, and to ME. It was very refreshing to see an artist with talent be such a humble and sweet person. Although we didn't have time to do our interview, I will get her on here before she leaves this week!

Ray and Jason's crazy day!

Last weekend we hit the Santa Monica Pier for what was supposed to be lunch, but turned into 10 hours of non-stop drinking, gossip, and laughter!
We started at the pier restaurant Marisol where we had chicken Nachos and margaritas. After B Scott (www.lovebscott.com) and Noah's Arc Creator and Director Patrik Ian-Polk joined us the fun began in what I canNOT even comment on!
After lunch we headed to the 3rd St. Promenade where we found a placed called Cabo Cantina and they had 2 for 1 drink specials! We met a great guy named Lucho who is a latin jazz singer and because of our great company he bought all our drinks!
We then headed to a private party at the Standard Hotel and then to a lounge where we continued drinking!
Needless to say, Ray is so much fun to be around, and if you dare to go there in his words, "you will get read." For more information on what Ray is up to go to his blog at www.raysbleujuice.blogspot.com or follow him on twitter at www.twitter.com/missterray.

Nas and Kelis: The final chapter

In 2007 I met Nas at one of the most memorable concerts of my life, KMEL Summer Jam. Nas was already somewhat known and had his hit, "If I ruled the world" with the incredibly talent Lauryn Hill rocking the charts. I knew then he would be a superstar and rap super talent.
When Nas and Kelis married I became interested in their life and love. They were a very sexy couple. Of course they weren't as sexy together as Beyonce and Jay Z, but they definitely gave other hip hop couples a run for their money.
The old saying, "everything comes to an end" is true, Nas and Kelis have filed for divorce. Below are court papers filed by Kelis (Petitioner)seeks to keep her "separate property." She better be smart and call Mel Gibson's wife! If you read down, it says that Kelis is expecting a baby on July 21, 2009!

I'm excited for both of them and wish them the best.

Ray J: Man about town!

Many people know Ray J as an R&B singer slash actor, but more infamously then his Billboard credit is his ability to get women! I met Ray J about 10 years ago at his house in Carson, CA. When I pulled up, Ray was coming out the house on his way to the nearby school where all the gangstas hung out (hell no I didn't kick it there). Over the years I've watched this kid turn into what many men would call a "playa."
When you meet Ray J there are many preconceptions that come to mind. There's the "dick em down" video of he and Kim Kardashian which I must admit I've seen (I give it a 10). Then there was the time he consoled pop diva Whitney Houston. I'm sure he gave new terminology to 'crack is wack.' Now he has starred in his own VH1 reality show titled, "For the Love of Ray J." My crazy ass was watching the show rooting for none other than Danger, a crazy girl who often wished death upon others. Now sometimes you watch these shows and think it's made for TV. Then I saw those naked picture of Danger.
After throwing up I thought, hmm, there is NO WAY this woman is sane! I'm just glad that Ray J didn't choose her. Knowing my boy though, there is NO WAY the girl he picked will even keep his heart. Hell, by his track record and promo pic above it's clear that NO WOMAN can hold him down. When Ray is back in LA I promise to lock him in for an interview! Wait till you see what I ask him!

What's HOT: Ace of Spades Champagne

Armand de Brignac (also known as "Ace of Spades" or "Gold Bottles"), the high-end champagne featured in Jay-Z's new video for "Show Me What You Got," is making its debut in the U.S. this year. Armand, manufactured in France, is being imported into North America for distribution by the Manhattan-based company of the same name.
"We're delighted to have someone of Jay-Z's stature include Armand de Brignac in the first video for his new album," said Brett Berish in a press statement. "Jay-Z has always demonstrated the highest standards and finest taste, and we're honored to see Armand make an appearance in "Show Me What You Got." Armand's unmatched taste and package are a perfect fit for the video."
The video reaffirms Jay-Z's decision to boycott Louis Rodere Cristal brand of champagne back in June, following some disparaging comments by Cristal boss Frédéric Rouzaud. In the video for "Show Me What You Got," Jay-Z is offered a bottle of Cristal, a brand he had endorsed on previous songs and videos. Jay motions for the bottle to be sent back, and a waiter returns with a silver briefcase. It's opened to reveal the Armand de Brignac gold bottle. GANGSTA

Oprah sounds off on bullying - Must read story!

Yesterday I rushed home from Big Wangs to watch this very special show on Oprah. Now we all know the mother of Television has the most inspiring topics, but it has been a long time since I've watched one as moving as this one.
There is a growing epidemic of young children committing suicide because of school bullies. A friend of mine Michael Arcenaux wrote a compelling story that hit all too close to home for him. While reading his story it almost brought me to cry. Please read the entire story, and visit Oprah.com for clips from yesterdays show.
The following story is by Michael Arcenaux
Read more at: http://theroot.com/views/when-bullying-leads-suicide
I wish I could’ve spoken to Carl Walker-Hoover and Jaheem Herrera before they decided to kill themselves.

Not to tell them that they’re far too young to take their lives at 11. Evidently both felt otherwise. I wouldn’t have bothered repeating the trite adage “sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt you.” Because words can sometimes be more painful than any physical blow you can throw at a person. I wouldn’t act as if the slurs, insults and taunts that haunted them at school would end anytime soon … if ever.
What I would have told them is that they’re not alone. That they are not the first to be targeted by bullies for possibly being different. Or that they are not the only ones who have been called a faggot in the hallway.
I wish I could’ve told them that I know exactly how they feel.
Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover, an 11-year-old Massachusetts student, hanged himself after enduring bullying at school. Although Walker-Hoover himself never identified as such, he was the victim of daily taunts of being called gay. Not long after his suicide, another 11-year-old, Jaheem Herrera, was discovered by his younger sister, hanging by an extension cord in their DeKalb County apartment in Georgia.
He, too, was bullied by his classmates and was routinely called gay and a snitch.
I know all too well about kids going after anyone they suspect as gay or “soft.” Whether I was stepping onto a school bus, into a classroom or inside the cafeteria, I felt like a target. I was that kid who went through school listening as other students—and in some cases teachers—made jokes about the way I walked and talked.
I worried constantly about whether or not I was going to have to get into a fight on any given day because someone mistakenly made me out to be an easy target. Everyone around me wanted to be considered “hard,” and since I never felt compelled to put on airs that way, some thought they could test me.
And I lived with the fear that it would never end.
I understand the sadness each boy probably endured, and though I did often fight back, I still contemplated killing myself just so I wouldn’t have to fight ever again. I wasn’t sure if I could take it, constantly being attacked for something I had no control over. I thought I was strong, but dealing with people’s hatred started to drain me. After a while, I felt like giving up.
It took me a long time to come to grips with who I was, and even now, at 25, at my most secure, I still have to contend with the fact that more times than not, people hate anything and anyone that is different.
As a gay black man, I find myself at the top of the list of people to hate. That’s a hard fact to contend with at 25, let alone at 11. The accepted notions of how a black man should look and act are confining and dangerous, whether you are gay or not. As a grown man, I still hear other black men say things like all gay men should be sent to a women’s prison to be raped and killed. I had to endure this most recently while sitting in the chair at the barbershop. None of the people so casually spewing hate knew I was gay, so all of their smiles and gestures toward me did nothing but make me feel more unwelcomed.
So I understand the pressure young Carl Walker-Hoover and Jaheem Herrera felt from their peers, whether they were actually gay or not. I also understand the precarious position they may have found themselves in with their families. And I now carry with me the realization that some family members may no longer want anything to do with me if I were to share who I really am.
It doesn’t help that other people who look like me—black people—are helping lead the charge to have me remain a second-class citizen by opposing gay marriage or openly regurgitating ridiculous stereotypes like being gay is somehow contagious.
If I could only have talked to them, I would have told Carl and Jaheem something that every 11-year-old needs to hear frequently and understand: That no matter what anyone tells you, God loves you just the way you are. He loves you all too much for this type of abuse to continue.
I’d tell them that they were both stronger than any bully and to not be surprised if the very people going after them had their own deep-seated insecurities.
And I would tell them that they were special—whether gay or straight—and that being called either is not an insult, and it only matters if they let it. I would tell them that despite how bad things might feel for them now, tolerance is on their side, and that in their lifetime, for their generation, things will be much better than mine.

Cassie has lost her hair, and now her mind!

GET INTO IT! Badboy artist and girlfriend of Sean P Diddy Combs who has been signed to the label for a few years has found new ways of 're-inventing' herself. Firt Cassie decided that she would try to come for Aaliyah (R.I.P.) in a buzz cut flip. Although many loyal fans believed this new look was hot, I have to say NOT. I've met Aaliyah and other female artists like Kelis or Rihanna who have done many things with their hair, yet nothing as ridiculous.
As if dating the CEO of her record lable, Combs, who has dropped every artist he's had when he's done with them (or their ass or pussy depending) she has gone and done the unthinkable, posed nude! I guess after Aubrey caught the eye of Diddy after posing for Playboy, Cass thought she would show her little tata's. Hmm, cute, but she's the smallest LOSER. Enjoy.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK!

So I was on twitter this morning (www.twitter.com/hot2definc) chatting with a couple of friends and we began to talk about music. Now, many of you know, recently Keri Hilson has gotten on my damn nerves with her attacks against Beyonce, but this is not about her. Chrisette Michelle is the Hot 2 DEF ARTIST OF THE WEEK!
As I perused her music online, and got into her soulful sound, Chrisette promises the return of soul music. I had to post the youtube video below just so you can see what I mean. Originally, she gave me Erykah Badu and Alicia Keys with the piano, but all around, she's definately going to be a force to reckon with. Now if Keri goes after Chrisette I say we just CHOP that hoe down. Enjoy!

Nike of the week - Channel Zero Dunks
YOOO, when I saw these shoes it just reminded me of all the times my favorite cartoons got interrupted. The Nike Dunk High-117 is reminiscent of the now famous saying, PAUSE. There is no doubt you'll do just then when you see them on the streets!

Kelly Price KILLS this Gospel Song
